Apart from an accident, the thing that damages the paint on most cars is actually bird droppings. It’s very acidic and it can really eat into the paint, right down to the metal. So, here’s a simple tip, once a bird dropping is on your car, try to remove it as soon as possible – It’s not as gross as it sounds. Get a good sponge, like this one here, it’s micro fibre on one side and it’s called a bug sponge on the other, so it’s like a woven weave. Put some car wash or any detergent for that matter into the bucket, a little bit of water. Now, wet the bird dropping first. Make sure it gets plenty of moisture on it, so that it soaks into the bird dropping. Once it’s loosened up, this mesh side of the sponge can be used to clean away the excess. Simply wipe it around where the bird dropping was and a bit around the excess areas. Then, grab the hose and hose it all down, and she should be good as new. If you keep your car regularly polished, this will also make it easy to remove bird droppings and other stains on the paint. So, while we’re thinking, maybe it’s time to get a polish on your car too.
